Club Information

Atlantic Divers has been running officially since December 2001 but started as a group of about six divers diving on a Wednesday night in the late 90's. We now have over 35 members on the register with around a hardcore of 12 divers who dive all year round.

The club is made up of divers of various ages mostly around 30ish.  Most of our members come from the Glasgow area but we have members from all over central Scotland. We differ from other clubs in that do not have any rigid training, teaching or meetings to attend, just a group of divers who dive as much as possible. 

As a club do not have any gear to hire but can scrape up various pieces of equipment from other members if required, (we have plenty of tanks to loan out). We carry two oxygen therapy kits with two additional 7ltr cylinders of oxygen in case of diving emergencies on most club dives.

We usually shore dive around the west coast from Troon to Oban with the occasional trip to the east coast. We also try and organise various diving trips throughout the year.  Check our dive dates page for dives and trips in the coming months. The club is pretty easy about who dives each site but we do have a minimum experience level required for most dives, this can be found on our dive site page. We dive in any weather, so unless it's a boat dive there are not many times our shore dives are cancelled. We also try and organise various pool nights, with one of our members who is an instructor, at Holyrood School in Glasgow to allow members to practice in a confined area. 

If you want to come along to the next pool date or any of the planned shore dives for a chat you are more than welcome.  We also have a few club meeting throughout the year, the next date will be posted on news and dive date page. Feel free to come along to a pool night, meeting, open water dive or use the forum to get more information on the club. If you decide to join the club our annual membership fee is £15 with a one off joining fee of £20.
