Inspiration CCR Diver Training
Introduction
The programme is design to progress the trained recreational diver to the skill level of Inspiration diver.
Student Prerequisites
The student must meet the following criteria to undertake this programme:
- Be a qualified recreational open water diver
- Be a qualified open circuit diver or equivalent
- Have completed 100 hours on open circuit below 40m using air.
Programme Content
The programme will cover such items as:
- Revision of basic EAN diving and gas blending theory
- Optimum bailout strategy including manual CCR mode, SCR mode and full OC bailout
- Decompression implications of the various CCR dives
- Decompression implications of the various CCR bailout strategies
- Gear configuration for a CCR dive
- Complete a oral exam to the Instructors satisfaction on all factors of diving an Inspiration CCR
Equipment Required
The programme requires that the following equipment must be used:
- CCR fitted with an oxygen OC bailout 2nd stage and flow control device
- CCR fitted with a diluent OC bailout 2nd stage
- Decompression CCR computer or tables
- Backup tables for decompression dives undertaken
- 1X oxygen clean seven litre sling cylinders with regulator as a minimum bail out on dives deeper than 30m.
- Spare mask
- Strobe
- DSMB and deployment reel
Programme Scope
The programme will comply with the following limits:
- Maximum dive depth limit 50m
- No PPO2 at depth greater than 1.4
- No PPO2 on deco greater than 1.6
- One or more of the bailout gases must be breathable at all the depths of the dive
- Bailout gas must be adequate for 1-½ divers to complete the dive safely.
Skill Tests
The following skills must be demonstrated to the instructor during the course:
- Complete an open circuit check out dive to the maximum depth of 50m under instructor observation not instruction
- Complete the following tasks at a maximum deep of 20m in full gear configuration
- Complete pre-dive system safe checks
- Complete in water system safe checks
- Demonstrate basic emergency skills for
- Hypoxia
- Hyperoxia
- Hypercapnia
- Flooded loop
- Component system failures
- Demonstrate buoyancy control
- Demonstrate gas switching
- Demonstrate loop flushing
- Complete a blue water ascent during a dive
- Complete a controlled ascent using OC bailout during a dive
- Plan and complete a 50m maximum depth decompression dive or simulation.
- Demonstrate complete knowledge of the contents of the Inspiration CCR user manual during the course
- Demonstrate a complete knowledge of basic strip down and rebuild the Inspiration for basic service, routine cleaning, basic fault finding.
